SURVIVE! ~ U.S. RELEASE POSTER NSS# 76/176 ~ PARAMOUNT PICTURES ~ 1976
This Original Poster is in excellent condition. Like most posters of this size, it is printed on extra-heavy glossy poster stock. It has always been ROLLED - never folded. There are multiple staple holes in all four corners and at the top and bottom center (white) edges. There is light yellowing and some minor corner, edge and surface wear.
This striking exploitation poster for the controversial film -based on a true story of cannibalistic plane-crash survivors- is a great example of cautionary showmanship! A huge orange "WARNING!" logo is coupled with a "sincere" message from the management, advising patrons that the film contains grisly scenes. The large, angled title-logo contains a tantalizing scene from the film: The crashed plane is seen, buried in snow with mountain peaks behind; several of the survivors are seen, milling around the plane; in the foreground, one survivor is seen dragging a nude corpse...presumably to slaughter.
The hugely-successful Mexican-import film stars PABLO FERREZ and HUGO STIGLITZ . Directed by RENE CARDONA, JR. , who also directed TINTORERA and GUYANA, CULT OF THE DAMNED . Presented in the U.S. by ROBERT STIGWOOD and ALAN CARR, who produced GREASE !
